Cabin and Birthday Weekend

We went to our family's cabin in West Jefferson this past weekend to celebrate my 28th birthday. We had a great time and Link did so well while we were there. The trip included a hike at Linville Gorge, a trip into Boone, and an awesome Oreo ice cream cake. This was Link's first official hike and he did great. The plan is to keep taking him on hikes because we are Yosemite bound next summer! Carrying him in that baby carrier brought back memories remember what is was like to be pregnant and I am glad to have gotten rid of the baby weight. Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend!

"Standing"

Link has decided he would rather stand when he can now.....This could mean trouble in a few months!

Trying to Stay Awake

Last night, in attempts to keep Link up for a little while longer so that he could sleep during the night, Brad decided he would lay him down on his stomach. Seeings how Link is not a big fan of "tummy time," we figured it would work perfectly. Instead of the reaction we thought he would have, Link decided to keep sleeping so we had to take some pictures.

At least he slept well last night!

Baxter and Newman

Just wanted to share a couple of pictures of Baxter and Newman. They have taken the newest addition to our family in stride. I think they enjoy co-existing with Link right now but we are pretty sure that all three of them will like each other as Link gets older.

New York

Brad and I just got back from a trip to New York City with our friends, Dustin and Brittany. Friends from our old small group live up there and let us stay at their place. Their apartment is in such a good location. It is a block off of Central Park and decent walking distance from Times Square. It was a jam packed trip including the Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock, Madame Tussauds wax museum, Central Park, two Broadway plays (Catch Me If You Can and Mary Poppins), and some awesome diners including Carnegie Deli and Katz's Deli. We even saw Rubert Grint, Ron from Harry Potter, the last night we were there at a diner we were eating at. The only thing that didn't go our way was the Yankees game. We had tickets to the game on Friday night where Jeter was most likely going to hit 3000 but the game was cancelled due to rain and Jeter hit 3000 the very next day. It was really hard leaving Link but we had a good time and I am glad that we were able to get away!

3 Months Old

Link was 3 months old on June 30th. He is doing really well. He is able to hold his head up pretty consistently and really starting to "talk" and smile at us more and more. Do not fear...he still loves to grunt. But now he interchanges the grunts will cooing and other baby noises. Don't know an exact weight but he sure seems like he is getting bigger to us. He is doing a lot better sleeping during the night now. On average, he is getting up only once a night now and is wide eyed and ready to go about 6:30. He is about to go on his own vacation this week. While Brad and I are in New York City with our friends Dustin and Brittany, Link will be spending time at my folks house which has now been deemed "Camp Nani and Paw Paw." We hope that a good time will be had by all.
